PROJECT S-290 (formerly S-103): Technical and Economical Efficiencies  of Producing, Marketing, and Managing Environmental Plants

USEFULNESS OF FINDINGS

Each of the projects have provided benefits to the public, whether they be supplier, production, wholesale, or retail businesses, political entities, or consumers of landscape and ornamental plants. Some relevant examples include the examination of late season establishment of bedding plants for fall color, the evaluation of plant sales by market outlet type and state, and the analysis of consumer preferences for particular plant characteristics. This type of research can assist plant breeders and retailers in developing new varieties of landscape plants and marketers in delivering the high quality products consumers want most.
