  6. Comments from Bill Johnson:

    * Congratulations on project being approved until 1998. Around 1996, the committee will go through the approval process again. Less emphasis will be placed on the Committee of Nine in the future. A suggestion has been made for an external peer review of the project outline before submission to the SRRC. The SRRC will check the format and recommend approval.

    * There may be some funds directed towards the members of the regional committees in the future. This would be accompanied by a budget.

  7. Welcome to the new Penn State representatives.

  8. Request from Rutgers Extension specialist for membership to the committee.

  9. Dr. Johnson will be taking a sabbatic for 6 months starting in April and will be retiring Oct 1. A new administrative advisor will be appointed in the near future. The committee would like to include in the official minutes their appreciation for the long-standing support of Dr. Johnson in his role as administrative advisor.

  10. Comments from Paul Farris (CSRS representative):

    * In reviewing the new project proposal, there is tremendous opportunity for new project finding in the areas resource economics, pest management, and industry promotions. There is also opportunity to obtain competitive NRI grants from a regional perspective.

  11. Annual report update:

    * Every member needs to send a copy of their 1993 annual report to Forrest Stegelin.

    * Deadline for submission is March 7.
