Project Statement Project Participants Meeting Minutes Resources		Technical and Economical Efficiencies of Producing, Marketing, and Managing Environmental Plants The Green Industry Research Consortium (GIRC) is a regional research committee sponsored by the Southern Association of Agricultural Experiment Station Directors (SAAESD) and has the official designation of Multi-state Regional Project S1021. The committee is comprised of horticulturists and agricultural economists from land-grant universities across the nation. The GIRC (S1021) researchers collaborate synergistically in conducting research in the following areas: • Evaluating labor practices and means to improve effectiveness in worker productivity, including training and development costs and returns. • Evaluating firm-level, regional, and national competitiveness within the green industry. • Evaluating alternative green industry plant production, establishment, and maintenance systems. • Developing a profile of consumer segments and quantifying the demand for green industry products, plants, and services.
